Two!!

Oh, dear Ridge. What a big boy you are! We are so lucky to have you as a part of our lives.

Ridge is Bennett's very bestest friend. B gets so excited any time I talk about his buddy...he'll go get his shoes and be ready to go "bye bye" right away. It has been so fun to watch them grow together. Here is a picture of the boys that I just love, taken just over a year ago.


Now they are no longer just chubby babies that we prop up next to each other. They are full blown little boys actually playing together (instead of just near each other)...throwing balls back and forth, chasing one another around the house, making silly noises to get the other to laugh. They are so cute.

Often throughout the day Bennett will point to the chair Ridge sits in or the pack and play where he sleeps when he's visits our house and exclaims "Ree-Eee-Eee!". Bennett also cheers and says "Ree-Eee-Eee" when we drive past Ridge's street.

Saturday we celebrated Ridge's second birthday with a great, Cars-themed party. Bennett was happy to have a seat of honor near the birthday boy.


The third time was the charm when it came to singing "Happy Birthday" and blowing out candles. The first attempt had to be repeated because the video camera operator fell down on his job and missed the magical moment.

The second time Bennett was a bit over-zelous and blew out the candles before Ridge had a chance at them.

The third try was just perfect. (Notice Bennett eying the cake and Haley positioning herself to block him should he try to steal the limelight again.)
