It seems that my simple "keep the doors locked" proposal for ensuring that my child does not leave the house unattended and take up playing in the street is no longer going to be effective.

yeah, we got safety knob covers after we found oliver had gotten in the garage AND opened the garage door. nice. those gadgets are the reason that any guest stands on our front porch for a good amount of time while i attempt to open the front door.
